Application Process

Please be sure to read the section on Program Eligibility. Only applications of eligible candidates will be reviewed. The number of teachers or schools that may enroll are limited so apply today. Applications are due September 20.

*First Year Applicants…

To apply to the Partnership Program, teachers or school contact persons should download and complete the first year application.

pinPart I – Applicant Information…All fields are required.

pin Part II – Narrative…This section must be completed in order to be considered. The narratives should be 500-1,000 words in length and should answer the following three questions:

    1. Why do you want to be involved in this advanced training/ program development opportunity?

    2. What makes you or your program an ideal candidate for the Partnership Program?

    3. Describe the instructional program or practices you use in educating students with autism.

pinPart III – Commitment and Approval… An approval signature of your supervisor or building principal must be present.

The completed application should be submitted to the CARD supporting the school district. After you apply, a CARD committee at each CARD center will review the applications to select Partnership Program participants. After the selection process, a notification letter will be sent to each applicant of acceptance or rejection. If accepted, a letter will also be sent to your supervisor or building principal.

**Second Year Leadership Applicants…

    1. Describe the activities you may want to pursue through the Leadership Year (Note: These may be finalized after acceptance into the program and through negotiation with your supervisor or district coordinators.)

    2. What are the needs of teachers/families of students with autism in your district?

Program Eligibility

*First Year Applicants…

  • Applicants must be teachers or school staff in the State of Florida who provide instruction to a student or students with autism within a general or special education program.
  • There must be a commitment by the teacher or school staff to the enhancement of practices or school components that are provided to students with autism.

**Second Year Leadership Applicants…

  • In order to participate in the second year leadership track applicants are required to have successfully completed one year of the Partnership Program as a first year participant and must receive a nomination from their assigned CARD staff.
  • Applicants must be teachers or school staff in the State of Florida who provide instruction to a student or students with autism within a general or special education program.
  • There must be a commitment by the teacher or school staff to the enhancement of practices or school components that are provided to students with autism.
